What was your greatest athletic accomplishment in 2016?
Finishing my first Half Ironman!
What is your favorite type of race/course?
The half marathon is my favorite race distance – especially Rock ‘n Roll Dallas!
What are your goals for the 2017 season?
I want to break four hours in the marathon, set new PRs in other distances (5k, 10k, half), and get faster on the bike for triathlon races.
How many races did you participate in during December?
Two. I did the Rock ‘n Roll San Antonio Half Marathon and the Dallas Marathon.
Why do you recover with chocolate milk after a tough workout or training session?
It is super convenient because it’s always ready to go, fits my budget, and I can get it when I’m buying groceries. Oh, and it tastes great!
When did you begin recovering with chocolate milk?
I read a study about the benefits of chocolate milk not long after I started running half marathons on a regular basis, so probably about 5 years ago.
What is your favorite part of racing marathons and triathlons?
The community! I love how you can connect with other athletes in the start corral or in the tough places of a race. There is so much support and encouragement out on a race course!
