How long have you been a member of Team CHOCOLATE MILK?

I’ve been a member since 2013

What are some of your greatest athletic accomplishments of 2017 so far?

My greatest accomplishment for 2017 has to be completing my first 70.3 last month in Chattanooga

What is your favorite type of race/course?

I really love short course triathlons, 5Ks and half marathons (and throw in a 10K every now and then)

What are your goals for the 2017 season?

My primary goal was to complete the 70.3. Now that it’s over, I want to focus on a sub 25:00 5K and I would really love to do a west coast triathlon, an open water swim in something other than a lake. Then finally Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Louis in October.

How many races did you participate in during the month of May?

I did two triathlons the 70.3 and a sprint distance the next weekend. 

Why do you recover with chocolate milk after a tough workout or training session?

Because I know it’s important to refuel.  After my IRONMAN race, all I wanted was a giant jug of chocolate milk.  It satisfied my need for carbs while giving my muscles all the protein they needed.

When did you begin recovering with chocolate milk?

I began recovering with chocolate milk long before I joined the team.  I have always enjoyed a big frosty mug of chocolate milk after a run. It’s just so delicious!

What was your favorite part of racing in Chattanooga?

Honestly, the atmosphere. Chattanooga is awesome and they welcomed us with open arms.  IRONMAN knows how to through a party and IRONMAN village felt like home.  Being surrounded by so many athletes was such a great feeling. I would do another 70.3 just to experience another IRONMAN Village.
