The New York Times recommends chocolate milk for post-workout recovery

The New York Times published an article highlighting all the core principles of training for a triathlon and the personal goals that come along with this journey. The author, AC Shilton, points out that in order to have a successful triathlon, one must be organized and eat properly, emphasizing that chocolate milk is the perfect post-workout recovery snack.

In the article Marni Sumbal, a board-certified sports dietitian and triathlon coach says that a glass of chocolate milk as a post-workout snack allows the body to refuel and recover from a workout. She writes that ”training for a triathlon is not the time to start skipping or skimping on meals, but rather to refuel after a workout with a quick snack of healthy carbs and protein.”
